Research Areas

 

1. Territory, space, body and gender

In this area, issues related to territory and space are addressed, in general, both literally and metaphorically (the body as territory and the space occupied by the female body). Issues related to sustainability and feminism, natural resources and gender, health and gender, as well as the representation of women’s bodies in different fields and disciplines.

2. Gender, justice and well-being in global transformations. Migratory, educational, ethical and intersectional perspectives

Aspects directly related to migration, forced displacement, women refugees and women’s movements are studied. Research on truth, justice and reparations with a gender perspective is essential. This area also investigates equal education and social intervention with an intersectional approach, in educational, family, community and institutional contexts, it also deals with the overall feminization of care and welfare.

3. Gender-sensitive language and media, historical and artistic representation

Issues related to inclusive language, women’s representation and diversity, aspects such as gender in the arts and literature, and women’s creation are discussed. Another relevant is research on stereotypes, media and advertising.

These areas are not considered as watertight compartments since the Programme is a transversal and interdisciplinary one. The research and training of doctors is encouraged in a collaborative way, always from the study, reflection and critical analysis of concepts related to equality and gender.
