Those aspiring to participate in a Doctoral Programme must hold an official Spanish Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and a Master's degree (except for exempt degrees) or the cases contained in article 6 of R.D. 99/2011, and meet the requirements established by the Academic and Quality Committee of the corresponding Doctoral Programme.

The PhD Programme in Equality and Gender defines the following access profiles:

Graduates of the Official Master's Degree in Equality and Gender of the University of Malaga; graduates of other related official Master's Degrees (preferred).

People who have taken previous postgraduate studies in equality and gender.

People who wish to write their thesis on a central theme of gender and equality.

a) It is considered necessary to have completed a Master's Degree related to the Doctoral Programme, for which the following Master's Degrees have preferential access:

Official Master's Degree of the University of Malaga in Gender and Equality; related official Master's Degrees.

Students of these degrees will not be required to take specific training complements.

b) The Academic and Quality Committee of the Doctoral Programme in Equality and Gender will decide whether to accept applicants who have taken a Master's degree other than those indicated above, depending on the suitability of the Master's degree taken to the subject matter of this Doctoral Programme. If the Master's degree taken does not have a research profile or subjects related to gender and equality, students must take the specific complements defined for this programme.

c) The Academic and Quality Committee of the Doctoral Programme in Equality and Gender will decide on the acceptance in the Doctoral Programme of those who, having applied for admission, have studied degrees other than those mentioned above, or with a previous doctoral degree, depending on the suitability of the degree and the Master's degree studied to the subject matter of this Doctoral Programme.

d) Foreign students: When those applying for admission to the Doctoral Programme are in possession of a degree obtained in accordance with foreign educational systems, after verification by the UMA that it accredits a level of training equivalent to that of the official Spanish university master's degree and that it qualifies in the country issuing the degree for access to doctoral studies, the general admission criteria will be applied to them, without the need for them to homologate their degree.

This admission will not imply, in any case, the homologation of the previous degree held by the interested party or its recognition for purposes other than access to doctoral studies.

Candidates will be selected by the Academic and Quality Committee of the Doctoral Programme on the basis of merit and competence.
