Training Activities
1. Participation in Research Seminars or Doctoral Conferences specific to the Programme.
During the course of their research project, doctoral students must make public presentations of the results of their work. The Doctoral Programme will facilitate the periodic holding of doctoral seminars by speciality in which these results are discussed. These are scientific meetings specifically aimed at our doctoral researchers, held annually.
Part-time doctoral students will have the option of holding the seminar annually or biannually. This seminar helps to create synergies between students from different areas and with different interests. It promotes the attainment of the basic and specific competences of the programme.
Nature of the training activity: Compulsory.
Type of training: transversal, applied.
Language(s): English and/or Spanish may be used.
Timeframe for completion by students: attendance is compulsory for full-time and part-time students.
A certificate of attendance and participation will be issued and included in the Doctoral Student Activity Document.
2. Introduction to bibliographic searches and general information resources.
Transversal activity with a duration of 10 hours. The bibliographic search is a fundamental aspect of the training of any researcher and a regulated learning is always more efficient than a self-taught learning, as it usually happens.

6. How to implement a gender perspective in your thesis project. For an integral, inclusive and quality research.
A 25-hour course of basic and methodological training with the following objectives: to acquire the ability to include the gender perspective in all phases of research and to present a research project without sexist bias, both in doctoral theses and in scientific articles that may result from research.
Nature of the training activity: Compulsory.
Type of training: theoretical and scientific training, methodological training.
Language(s): Spanish will be used as the language of instruction.
Timeframe for completion by students: It is recommended for full-time and part-time students in the first year.
A certificate of attendance and participation will be issued and included in the Doctoral Student Activity Document.
7. Attendance at Conferences, Conferences or Workshops
This is a specific activity of 50 hours. Attendance and presentation at scientific forums becomes a very important element in the doctoral student's training. Here they can test the quality and shortcomings of their work, continuously update their knowledge and establish professional contacts with specialists in their field of study.
Doctoral students must attend or actively participate by presenting papers at national and international conferences, workshops or seminars in the areas of their interest.
Nature of the training activity: Compulsory.
Type of training: theoretical and scientific training, methodological training, applied training.
Language(s): English and/or Spanish or any other language used in the field of gender studies may be used.
Timeframe for its completion by students: It is recommended for full-time and part-time students to carry it out every year of the PhD.
Accreditation of the communication presented or attendance is required, which will be included in the Doctoral Student Activity Document.
For the financing of this activity, funding will be obtained from the project funds of the research teams of the Doctoral Programme, the calls for FPI and FPU contracts, those of the Andalusian Regional Government or those of the University of Malaga itself, as set out in its Research Plan.
8. Lecture Seminar
Activity of 10 hours that will be developed in all the courses and will be constituted by different conferences that are organised within the Master related to the Doctoral Programme, the IGIUMA and by the invited lecturers and collaborators of this Doctoral Programme.
within the Master related to the Doctoral Programme, the IGIUMA and by guest lecturers and collaborators of this Doctoral Programme; the number of hours outlined refers to an approximation of the lectures of interest for each doctoral student. 9. Research stay
This is an essential component in the training of doctoral students. We recommend that all doctoral students undertake at least one research stay in centres in other countries. They fulfil several functions: documentary consultation in libraries and archives; the collection of specialised information; the establishment of contacts, the basis of international cooperation relations; knowledge of other research institutions (academic organisation, equipment, working methods), etc.Nature of the training activity: Recommended.Type of training: theoretical and scientific training, methodological training, applied training.Number of hours: 140-300 hours.
