As soon as the student has a tutor and supervisor, a Documentary Commitment of Supervision will be signed. This document seals the agreement between all parties and establishes, among other aspects, the rights and duties of those tutoring the thesis, those who supervise it, as well as the doctoral students, the procedures for conflict resolution, issues relating to intellectual or industrial property rights that may be generated by the thesis, and the criteria that will be used to evaluate the doctoral training process.

Thus, the Documentary Commitment to Supervision (CDS) is the document that establishes the functions of supervision and monitoring of doctoral students.

This document will include, at least:

a) The chosen system for carrying out the studies: full-time or part-time.

b) The assessment criteria used by the corresponding Academic and Quality Committee to carry out the annual monitoring, relating to each of the years of development of the thesis.

c) Acceptance of the conflict resolution procedure established by the University of Malaga.

d) Aspects relating to intellectual or industrial property rights that may be generated within the scope of the doctoral programme.

The CDS will be signed by the doctoral student, as well as by the lecturers responsible for supervising and tutoring the thesis, and will also be approved by the coordinator of the doctoral programme.
