Structure
In terms of organization and administrative dependence, the IIO constitutes a single and indivisible body, which is part of the University of Malaga and reports to the University's Vice-Rector for Research and Transfer.
To better illustrate this idea, Article 5 of the Institute's Regulations is transcribed below:
Article 5. Organization and management
- The collegiate governing and administrative body of the IIO is the Council of the Institute. The personal bodies are the Director and the Secretary of the Institute.
- The tasks, responsibilities and obligations assumed by the governing and administrative bodies of the Institutes themselves shall be those derived from these Regulations.
- The day-to-day administration of the IOI will also be governed by these Regulations, drawn up by its collegiate governing body and submitted for approval to the Governing Council of the AMU, which will respect its organizational and operational autonomy.
- The economic and patrimonial management of the IIO shall be governed by the rules of the UMA and by these Regulations.
- The processing and management of research projects from competitive calls will be carried out by the Vice-Rectorate of the UMA responsible for research.
In other words, the decision-making body of the Institute is its Council. In addition to the Director and the Secretary, all the PhD members of the Institute, a representative of the non-doctoral researcher members and a representative of the administration and services staff of the Institute are members of the Council.
The day-to-day administration of the Institute is the responsibility of the Director and the Secretary.
The economic management, except for decisions related to the use of the funds assigned to the Institute, corresponds to the Services of the University of Malaga designated for this purpose. The Institute, as part of the University, is subject to the controls of the University of Malaga and its economic management is supervised by the delegation of the General State Comptroller's Office to the University.
Since it is an organ of the University of Malaga, the CIF of the Institute is that of the University, as is its fiscal domicile.
