The European Commission, within the framework of the Erasmus + Program, has awarded the University of Malaga a Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence that will develop the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence project on European and Global Studies and Research, under the acronym UMA-JMCE.
A Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence is a focal point of competence and knowledge about the European Union which brings together the experience and expertise of high-level experts. Among its activities, the following stand out: the organization and coordination of human resources and documentaries related to the studies of the European Union; leading research activities on specific issues of the European Union (research function); the development of content and tools on EU subjects to update and complement current courses and curricula (teaching function); promote debate and exchange of experiences on the EU (reflection function); systematic publication of the results of the research activities (dissemination function).
It aims to develop synergies between the different disciplines and resources in European studies, as well as in the creation of joint transnational activities and structural links with institutions from different countries.
