MAIN OBJECTIVES

a. Provide advanced training in research related to equality and gender.

b. To develop research skills and scientific methodology in the field of gender studies.

c. To promote interdisciplinarity and multidimensional approach in the study of equality and gender.

d. To promote the production of quality scientific knowledge in these areas.

e. To train researchers capable of addressing current challenges and demands in the field of equality and gender.

CORE COMPETENCIES

CB11 - Systematic understanding of a field of study and mastery of related research skills and methods.

CB12 - Ability to conceive, design or create, implement and adopt a substantial process of research or creation.

CB13 - Ability to contribute to the expansion of the frontiers of knowledge through original research.

CB14 - Ability to perform critical analysis and evaluation and synthesis of new and complex ideas.

CB15 - Ability to communicate with the academic and scientific community and society in general about the areas of knowledge concerned in the modes and languages commonly used in the international scientific community.

CB16 - Ability to foster, in academic and professional contexts, scientific, technological, social, artistic or cultural advancement within a knowledge-based society.

CB17 - Capacity to promote Open Science and Citizen Science, according to article 12 of the Organic Law 2/2023, of 22 March as a way of contributing to the consideration of scientific knowledge as a common good, by evaluating transversal activities carried out by the doctoral student related to different dimensions of Open Science and Citizen Science, as well as the training acquired in both disciplines in micro-credentials or similar format (from the application of R.D. 576/2023, 4 July).

PERSONAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES

CA01 - To operate in contexts where there is little specific information.

CA02 - To find the key questions that need to be answered to solve a complex problem.

CA03 - To design, create, develop and undertake novel and innovative projects in their field of knowledge.

CA04 - To work both as a team and autonomously in an international or multidisciplinary context.

CA05 - To integrate knowledge, tackle complexity and make judgements with limited information.

CA06 - Intellectual critique and defense of solutions.

OTHER COMPETENCIES

OC01 - To be able to analyse speech and texts (oral and written), taking into account feminist and intersectional analyses to avoid androcentrism and stereotypes.

OC02 - To be able to design a research project, using the appropriate methodology from a gender perspective.

OC03 - To be able to promote social change towards the improvement of women’s quality of life in order to achieve real equality.

OC04 - To be able to promote social change committed to respect for sexual and gender diversity, sexual orientation, body diversity, affective diversity, gender identity and gender expression, as well as diversity of background, culture, and related beliefs.
