MATERIAL RESOURCES
The School of Telecommunications of University of Malaga has computer facilities with the necessary licenced software for the students training, as well as the new technologies used in teaching and research. It also has specialised bibliographic collections on the research lines of the programme and research equipment.
Each doctoral student will have (as a minimum):
- A workstation consisting of a desk, chair and cupboard.
- A computer with Internet connection.
- Institutional email and access to both the general services of the University and the specific services of the doctoral programme (e.g. calculation servers).
- Access to the printing facilities of the centre.
- Office supplies for the development of his/her work.
The Dynamics of Biogeochemical Fluxes and its Applications PhD programme requires highly specialised equipment and infrastructure. Thus, most of the PhD theses defended in the programme are based on results from:
- Laboratory experiments
- Field data
- Numerical modelling
For this reason, in addition to the general instrumentation of each of the centres/universities involved in the doctoral programme (the Scientific Instrumentation Centre of the University of Granada, the Central Research Support Service of the University of Cordoba and the Central Research Services of the University of Malaga), specific laboratories and equipment are available for doctoral theses:
- Laboratory of the Physical Oceanography Group of the UMA (GOFIMA).
- Access to Supercomputing (PICASSO). Supercomputing and Bioinnovation Center, UMA.
- Oceanographic scientific equipment, property of GOFIMA.
- Other UGR and UCO laboratories.
ECONOMIC RESOURCES
Within the economic resources generated by the group, a budget item is set aside to offer financial aid (scholarship). This would be done after a period of observation and assessment of the attitude and aptitude of the enrolled student, a period estimated at approximately one semester.
