The influence of East Asia, as a geopolitical unit, in the cultural and economic globalisation constitutes a reality that Andalusia is willing to and should acknowledge. At present, our society demands further academic and scientific knowledge about this region given the important role it has acquired in the multipolar international structure. Therefore, the Bachelor's programme in East Asian Studies is an attemtp to meet these demands by training future professionals with specific skills in cultural, linguistic, political and economic relations from an interdisciplinary standpoint; in the logic of knowledge society; and development in the midst of the new challenges presented by emerging regions and markets.
