The increase in life expectancy and quality witnessed in our society is undeniable; to a great extent, this has been made possible through the development of Public Healthg systems, specifically through the training of health professionals, improving facilities where assistance is provided, and the proper supply of technological equipment.

It would be impossible to carry out quality medical practice without the support of technological equipment able to monitor physiological functions and to assist in patients' diagnosis. The development of these devices requires the contribution of expert engineers in areas related to mechanics, materials, electronics, automation, robotics, telecommunications, computing or information technology, in collaboration with health professionals.
