The Atenea Collection holds every work that analyse, from a scientific perspective and discipline, the reality of woman. This is achieved through gender or feminist studies in the form of essays and anthologies.
This repository was proposed by the Seminar on Interdisciplinary Women's Studies at the University of Málaga in 1990, to create an editorial line which was almost inexistent. It was finally constituted in 1991.
The Atenea Collection relies upon bringing to light and spreading ‘Studies on Women, Gender and Feminism’ both local, national and internationally.
The more than 100 works published up to this day come from different knowledge areas. As it has been growing, the collection has approached complexity, current affairs and social discourses and experiences that generate various debates: identity, diversity, citizenship, political culture, strategies and social action.
Moreover, the Victoria Kent International Research Award is annually published on this collection.
