Coordination of a network of 6 sensors worldwide to improve the ST3 Ground Segment

Based on the BOOTES robotic observatory network we propose the implementation of an advanced control and analysis system with the objective of optimising
the cooperative management of the telescopes in support of the Spanish Space Surveillance and Tracking (S3T) system. This proposal is designed to integrate and expand the current astronomical data capture and analysis capabilities, thereby providing substantial improvements in operational efficiency and data quality. These improvements are in line with the strategic objectives of ESA and the Spanish Space Agency. We aim at developing a coordinated operation, data processing and evaluation of a worldwide network of sensors which we have built over the past 25 yr. The sensors are ideal for tracking observations due to the fast slewing speeds and location in a variety of hour angles well suited to simultaneously map the space at different Earth locations. This research will be accomplished by experts from both the Institute of Astrophysics of Andalucia (IAA-CSIC) and the University of Málaga in Spain. Adapted from A. J.
