PRESENTATION

The aim of the UMA Business Creation Support Unit is to encourage entrepreneurial activity among students at the University of Malaga and help create new innovative companies offering competitive products, processes or services. As a result, this will generate employment and the expansion and modernization of the economic structure in the province of Malaga.

To achieve this goal, the UMA has developed the Spin-Off Programme to Support Business Creation in the university ambit. Since its inception in 1997, the Programme has developed continuously up to the present day.

The Programme works on two levels:

1. Encouraging knowledge transfer through the creation of businesses by students and graduates

2. Encouraging the transfer of research results, technology or technological services developed in different university departments

The Spin-Off Programme functions on different levels, from stimulating entrepreneurship and business ideas, to the creation, development and promotion of businesses.
