Motorcycle Braking and Traction Control (2010-Present)

Braking and traction control systems are fundamental safety components in vehicles, as they prevent wheel lock while maintaining directional control during emergency braking and prevent excessive slippage when high torque is exerted on the drive wheels. This article presents the model of a motorcycle and the estimation of the necessary parameters for the further development of an intelligent braking or traction system with the aim of controlling slippage, thus achieving an improvement in the dynamic behavior of two-wheeled vehicles.

Sensorized vehicle (2004)

The fundamental objective pursued with the construction of this vehicle, in addition to the challenge of designing, manufacturing and assembling a complete vehicle, is to have a versatile and easily adaptable platform for testing vehicle components.

Measuring system for the distribution of normal pressures and the geometry of the contact in the contact footprint of tires (2002)

A measuring system for the distribution of normal pressures and the geometry of the contact in the tire footprint with its rolling track has been developed based on the phenomenon of total frustration of the internal reflection of light.
The system is capable of providing the tire with variable camber and drift angles.

Brake Control System (2000-Present)

The Mechanical Engineering area of the University of Malaga has developed a sensorized automobile with the aim of checking the behavior of vehicle tires and brake systems on the track.
The vehicle incorporates a conventional braking system and has also been equipped with an intelligent braking system equipped with proportional servo valves. The vehicle has been equipped with suitable sensors for checking the operation of the brake systems under real driving conditions.

Automation ITV Lines (1995-2004)

Project focused on the automation of inspection lines at the IVESUR stations in Malaga, Algeciras and Seville. Within the project, an inspection computer program has been developed, where the following is available:

  • Cataloging of visual defects
