5. Mobility funding for PhD candidates:
The Plan Propio Integral de Docencia de la Universidad de Málaga includes, within its 1st Line, Action 14 (Financiación de programas de doctorado) which regulates the funding of PhD programmes and contemplates the funding secured for PhD candidates who participate in international mobility programmes and in international co-supervision regimes. In addition, both I+D+i projects and the projects funded by the European Union within the PhD programme include mobility funds that can be used by their grant holders and by other members of these projects, specifically by the technical staff and by the hired research staff in training (PIF). These funds are complemented by those contracts and research agreements that contemplate funding for mobility and that are managed by the Research Service. The Plan Propio de Investigación de la Universidad de Málaga, furthermore, also includes a monetary provision for mobility. This provision is, at the same time, complemented by the mobility resources within the Plan Andaluz de Investigación, Desarrollo e Innovación (PAIDI), which contemplate travelling bursaries for the presentation of research in academic conferences, as well as grants for brief (from one to three weeks) and long (from three to six months) research stays.
