SHORT CV:

 

Profesor Titular de Universidad in the Área de Conocimiento de Ingeniería de Sistemas y Automática since 2009. Received the ME-level degree of Ingeniería Industrial from the Universidad de Málaga in 1997, and the PhD in 2002, also from the same University.

His main research works deal with Robotics and Mechatronics applications, from surgical robotics to intelligent vehicles, but particularly mobility and electric, autonomous and connected vehicles, and monitoring and fault-tolerance. He has participated in more than 15 competitive projects (IP in three of them), and in more than 30 contracts with private companies (being responsible for three of them). As a result of these activities, besides authoring papers in journals and conferences, has filed 11 patents, 7 of them transferred to industry. He has been co-organizer of the international project Summer School in Mechatronics in 2007, 2008 and 2010, and responsible for 2011 and 2012 (these years funded as an Erasmus Intensive Program).

Subdirector (Vice-dean, 2004-2012) and Director (Dean, 2012-2017) of the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Industrial of the Universidad de Málaga.

Inventum Award to the best patent from Universidad de Málaga, 2007. Día de Andalucía Award to the research group "Robot Quirúrgico", 2007. Spin-Off Award 2002. Prize to the best PhD thesis, Colegio de Ingenieros Industriales de Andalucía Oriental, 2002.
