Protocol for the public defense of doctoral theses through videoconference, during the period of classromm activity suspension, due to the COVID-19 (link)
Our Doctoral Program has its specific regulations regarding:
- The writing of the thesis,
- The Thesis Defense Committees,
- The Defense of the thesis
The University of Malaga doctoral regulations can be found at the following link (Titles 4, 5 and 6). For further information, please contact the School of Doctoral Studies (email@example.com).
All the paperwork for submission throughout the Program is submitted using the DAD, an application that connects students with the tutors and supervisors and allows saving a great deal of time.
The Doctoral Program in Economics and Business requires the students to upload to the DAD platform, apart from all the documents required by the UMA, the up-to-date Report about Research Activities (Informe de Actividades de Investigación) that can be found in the students hall of the virtual campus.
The only specific requirement set bu the Doctoral Program in Economy and Business to grant the public defense of the thesis is to have published (or, at least, accepted for publication) a paper in a journal listed in the JCR database (SCI or SSCI), containing some research directly related to the doctoral thesis.
It is very important that in such paper(s), the affiliation of the student must include the Doctoral Program of Economy and Business of the University of Málaga, and the student must be the first or the second author.
