Introduction
The University of Malaga (UMA) offers a PhD Psychology program within the field of Health Sciences. It is taught at the Faculty of Psychology and is coordinated by the Doctorate School of the University of Malaga. It was awarded verification by the Spanish National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) on the 23rd of July 2013.
Our PhD program was planned and designed by the Office of the Dean of Psychology in collaboration with a large group of researchers working within key areas of psychology at the UMA. The research groups involved in the PhD program are organised into seven main lines of research. All the faculty members involved have long research careers in their respective fields and work in well-established research groups. The bulk of their research is done at the UMA, and they regularly collaborate with research groups from Spain and abroad.
The current program is a response to the demand for doctors in psychology, and it combines the main interests and objectives of all the research groups involved. The result of this approach is a PhD program that will train you to become an excellent psychologist with a firm grasp of this discipline, a capacity for innovative and independent thinking regarding current psychological research, and the ability to perform all the activities required of a professional psychologist with outstanding expertise.
